I know that coming to therapy, especially for the first time can be challenging for a whole range of reasons. In our sessions I aim to make sure everyone feels welcomed, and accepted, and hopefully even a little invigorated. I value the knowledge, skills and experience that each individual client brings into the therapy room. I try to always be aware of power imbalances and how this can impact the dynamic between myself and my clients, especially when they clearly hold different identities to me. I try to regularly seek feedback throughout the time we spend together, so I can keep adjusting to make the sessions as valuable as possible to my clients.

I have expertise in working with adolescents, early adulthood, parenting, parenting stress, anxiety, depression, and body focused repetitive disorders such as hairpulling and skin picking. I work with people who have experienced trauma (long-term and single event traumas), young people who live with complex medical conditions, and family members of people with complex medical conditions. I utilise aspects of several different therapeutic approaches, but my core framework for understanding and working with mental health difficulties is Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT).

Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Auckland University

Member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP)

Pricing

Assessment and therapy sessions are $200 per hour, payable via bank transfer.

Bulk billing for several sessions at a time is possible. There is a 50% fee charged for sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.

Report-writing, and extra-liaison with professionals or family members beyond client emails is charged at $180 per hour (pro-rata), this will be discussed as applicable.
