I am a senior clinical psychologist. I received my Ph.D. from the USA in 2001 and since that time I have worked with children, adolescents and adults and families across both public, and private, settings in the USA and New Zealand. This has included four years with the Auckland District Health Board, Child and Adolescent Services. Prior to my psychology training I was employed as a social worker, and specialist interviewer, with Child, Youth and Family in Dunedin.
Since 2006, I have been working in private practice in Auckland. My practice includes assessment and therapeutic work with adolescents adults and families across a wide range of issues. My areas of specialisation include adolescent issues, anxiety and depression, parenting, grief and loss, trauma, adjustment issues, marital and relationship problems. My clinical work is guided by a range of different therapies, including CBT, ACT, attachment therapy and systemic therapies such as narrative and solution focused therapy.
Within my private practice, I am also a Specialist Court Report Writer for the Family Court, and I prepare briefs of evidence for criminal trials, regularly appearing in court as an expert witness.
